Kangerlussuaq (English: "Big Fjord" from Kalaallisut language), (Danish: Søndre Strømfjord), is a settlement in western Greenland in the Qeqqata municipality[3] located at the head of the fjord of the same name (Danish: Søndre Strømfjord). It is Greenland's main air transport hub and the site of Greenland's largest commercial airport.




Ittoqqortoormiit is one of the most remote towns in Greenland. The region is known for its wildlife, including polar bears, muskoxen, and seals.


The Town of Seyoisfjordour is regarded by many as one of Iceland's most picturesque towns, not only due to its impressive environment but also because nowhere in Iceland has a community of old wooden buildings been preserved so well as here. Poet Matthias Johannessen called it a "pearl enclosed in a shell".
