Cruise & Maritime Voyages

Cruise & Maritime Voyages

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is Britain’s leading independent cruise line and 2017 heralds our eighth year of operating cruises from a choice of 11 UK ports and our fifth year from Fremantle, Australia.

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is part of the CMV Holdings London Travel & Leisure Group with offices in Purfleet, Essex, UK, Sydney, Australia, Ft Lauderdale, Florida, USA and Munich, Germany.  CMV is also a member of the prestigious global industry body, CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association).

We believe our smaller more intimate ships offer a leisurely and traditional home away from home country house style of cruising with the emphasis very much on personal service and going that extra mile. That’s why over 40% of our passengers cruise with us again and again and why over 95% of our guests are satisfied and enjoy their cruising experience with CMV.  Our expanding fleet has currently five small-to medium ships: Astor, Magellan, Marco Polo, Astoria and debuting in June 2017, the Columbus.

With the Astor 2018 Season we will be offering long distance voyaging from London to Fremantle via Auckland, Sydney and Adelaide, including 13 itineraries that allow guests to explore Western Australia’s South West and Bali in Indonesia. Astor will visit Melbourne and Adelaide as well before returning to London via South Africa. The stylish Astor offers a great opportunity to experience the bygone halcyon days of long distance sea travel. This exquisite 620 passenger ocean liner represents a new era in premium style cruising.

Astor

The Australian Cruising public has clearly adopted ASTOR during her first two seasons while home ported in Fremantle.

Cruise and Maritime Voyages believes that the results of her A$18.6 million refurbishment in 2010 makes ASTOR the perfect fit for the Australian cruise market.

That refurbishment sees the ASTOR boasting comfortable cabins and impressive public areas that are regularly meeting the needs of guests who sail on her – whether for just one night, or 53.

ASTOR has proven to be the perfect backdrop for CMV’s celebration cruises that are scheduled around important festive days – Christmas, New Years and Australia Day. And the word is spreading, with sectors of ASTOR’s trips into South East Asia (especially Bali) increasing in popularity with holidaymakers.

She is a stylish, fully stabilised and air-conditioned cruise liner with a capacity of 620 passengers. She has seven passenger decks and a variety of facilities for everyone to enjoy, including the Library, the Card Room and an internet café.

There are five lounge areas to gather with friends and family, to relax by yourself, or to get to know your fellow guests. The theatre-style ASTOR Lounge is home to the very talented show team; the Captain’s Club is a terrific venue for a pre-dinner drink, or to sit back and enjoy the skills of the resident pianist; the Hanse Bar will whet your social appetite and has a fantastic array of cocktails and also leads outside to the relaxing Sonnen (Sun) Terrace Bar; and of course there is the Poolside Bar.

As well as the outdoor pool, there is an indoor one also, that is a part of the ship’s Wellness Centre. If you’re keen to stay in shape, there is a well-equipped gym and exercise area, which is easy to whittle time away in because of the ocean views. Those after something more relaxing may consider the massage facilities, sauna or trip to the hairdresser or beauty therapist.

For more leisurely options, consider a stroll around the Promenade Deck, or a visit to the sports deck, which provides the chance to join in a game of volleyball, half-court tennis, or big board chess, make use of the jogging track, or partake in a relaxing yoga session.

You don’t need to participate in a shore excursion at one of your ports of call to get in a touch of shopping either (although it’s not a bad idea), with ASTOR offering its own arcade, featuring a boutique, a jeweller and perfumery. You can also stock up on a few snacks if the need arises.

Yes, there are many ways for you to work up an appetite and also several ways for you to feed it. You have a choice of four dining options, from buffets, five course sittings and specialist restaurants, with a variety of appetising food available for most of the day and night.

Accommodation on board ASTOR ranges from Standard to Deluxe and 70 per cent of cabins enjoy ocean views.
